"Of course you can stay," Steve replies, keeping his voice low and even as he watches her quietly, trying not to do or say anything that would cause her to believe that he's angry with Danny in any way, or inclined to yell.
"Don't worry," he says, slowly easing back to his feet. "We've definitely got the room."
