I wrinkle my nose. Dogs are annoyingly loyal and protective. "I do not know, I have never had a dog. They weren't allowed at the orphanage." True enough. "And my new, my old, Mommy and Daddy didn't have one, either."
My eyes scan the area, looking out for landmarks, things I would need to know. It helps me appear unsure, and a little worried.
