Month 1: Esther will arrive in Rapture, and be spotted by the ITF who will start a search for her. She will evade them for 2-3 days, making herself a nest and gathering a few odds and ends, notably clothing to replace her blood-stained garments. After those initial days, she will allow herself to be found and rescued by a team including IPD volunteers. One of the volunteers will be Danny and owing to the attention he pays her, she will single him out to become her new caretaker. Once above ground, she will play the traumatized and shy child throughout.
During her initial weeks, Esther will seem like most other children on the island, if a bit more withdrawn and secretive. Shortly after her adoption, she will have a public EP. She will then begin to pick apart Steve and Danny’s relationship, finding the cracks and starting to pry them open in a combination of private/public interactions. It will start small, comments about Steve not liking her, about him looking at her funny or making fun of her.
Towards the end of the first month, she will “walk-in” on some sexy funtimes with Steve and Danny. To Danny, she’ll play the innocent, to Steve, she’ll be more frank and he’ll start wonder exactly where she learned about things and what else she might be hiding.
Month 2: Esther will receive her book as an item at the beginning of this month. In the movie, Esther has a Russian bible that she carries everywhere and doesn’t let anyone see. Inside are pictures of men she has ruined and a stamp indicating it was from the Saarne Institute. Form the time she finds it, the book will hardly leave her sight, except when she hides it in her room, under her bed. Towards the end of this month, Steven will find the book and the bloody clothes from home she has stashed away. Esther will freak out, almost attacking him. In the scuffle, Steve will push her back and she’ll fall. Danny will see the fall and Esther tell him that Steve accused her of horrible things and pushed her down. Danny will believe her.
With the strain beginning to show in Steve’s and Danny’s relationship, Esther will start to fantasize and draw pictures of her and Danny in, shall we say, compromising positions.
Danny and Steve fight.
Month 3: Someone close to the family will find Esther’s adoption record, and turn it over to Steven, hoping to be useful. Inside are the details of her adoption by the Sullivan family from an unnamed orphanage in Russia and the fire that killed them, a result of arson. For an adoption file, it’s very scant, no medical records (presumed destroyed in the fire), and no history beyond her short life with the Sullivan’s. There are also hand-written notes by Sister Abigail about “bad things happening” when Esther is around, accidents and the like. It can be read as someone concerned for the traumas she’s suffered because of these events, or as someone who perhaps had a hand in them. Smelling a fish, Steven will confront her and another scuffle will break out, this one instigated by Esther as she makes comments about Danny wanting kids, something Steven’s not exactly equipped to give him and she can. (She will be vague about whether she means that she can get pregnant and have kids, or that she’s the daughter Steven can’t give him.) She takes a swing at him and in a loss of temper, he swings back. After the scuffle, she will immediately run off and break her arm. Crying, she runs to Danny who takes her to the clinic for treatment where reluctantly she will say Steve did it.
This time, Danny kicks Steve out.
Month 4: With Danny and Steve effectively separated for the time being, Esther thinks she has it made. With a certain amount of glee, she lures Steve somewhere private with the promise of answers and a desire to mend fences and put her family together. Instead, she injures him and leaves him for dead. From there, she leaves on a pre-arranged camping trip with Danny. The next day, a sympathetic TR pup finds Esther’s Russian psych file on the bookcase – there’s a picture, in case the pup can’t read Russian, and the pup in question will start looking for Danny and/or Steven. Having rushed back to his home, the not-quite dead Steve will meet up with the TR pup and upon reading the file he will realize that Esther is a 33-year-old psychopath Leena Klemmer. Pulling her room apart for a clue, he will find Leena’s erotic artwork, including a piece that gives a clue as to the pair’s camping location, near dino-territory.
Meanwhile, at the campsite, the first day has gone uneventfully and Danny, and while he’s upset about Steve, he’s relaxing. Among her items, Esther has a bottle of alcohol (to make Dano feel better) and while Danny drinks, she changes into something sexy. Her seduction doesn’t go well, so she tries to kill Danny instead, wounding him badly and leaving him to die. She plans to wander until the local animals start to eat at him and then head back, claiming a tragic accident.
Steve, not waiting for the IPD or any other help, rushes out into the jungle to save Danny. The person who brought Leena’s records has a little more sense and runs to get back-up. Steve gets to Esther first and they fight, with Steve shooting her after she tells him Danny’s dead. Depending on the mod’s decision, she will either stumble into the woods and disappear, or she will be killed when trying to escape into the path of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
